This version of Dietplan6 will run using any version of Mac OS X from 10.3.9 (Panther) to 10.7 (Lion). It is a “universal” build that will run natively on both PPC and Intel processors. To check which version of OS X you are running, select About this Mac from the blue Apple menu in the top left corner of your Mac screen.

Click on one of the Download Dietplan6 buttons below to select either the UK or Australia/New Zealand (NUTTAB) food tables and begin downloading your 30-day evaluation copy of Dietplan6. Firefox or the standard OS X web browser Safari will download the file dp6eval-uk-osx.dmg or dp6eval-au-osx.dmg. Older versions of OS X will download the file directly onto your desktop, mount the disk image contained in the file and start the installation process automatically. More recent versions use the downloads sub-folder in your home folder as the default. If necessary, double-click on the saved file to open the disk-image it contains, which will be shown in a new Finder window. The image contains a “Package” file and a “Read-me” text file. To begin installation, double click on the package file.

Dietplan6 will be installed by the standard OS X software installer. By default it will be put on your primary drive in /Users/Shared/Dietplan6. To create a “shortcut”, drag the Dietplan6 program icon from the ../Dietplan6/program subfolder into the dock. Your 30-day trial period begins the first time you run the program. Once Dietplan6 is installed, the downloaded file can be deleted.

There are a few minor differences between the OS X and Windows versions, mainly concerning the “Mac” way of presenting things. These are described in a Read me file displayed during installation. You can also download a 30-day Trial Guide to accompany the evaluation. Click the above link to download the file onto your desktop. It is in PDF format and will be opened by the standard OS X Preview application.

Once the trial period expires you will still be able to access the program and see any work you have done, but you will not be able to add anything new. If you purchase Dietplan6, the licenced version will be installed over the evaluation version and replace it. To remove the evaluation copy, move the whole /Users/Shared/Dietplan6 folder to Trash.
