This version of Dietplan6 will run using Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) OS X 10.4 (Tiger) OS X 10.5 Leopard or OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. It is a "Universal" build that will run natively on both PPC and Intel processors. To check which version of OS X you are running, select About this Mac from the blue Apple menu in the top left corner of your Mac screen.

Click on one of the Download Dietplan6 buttons below to select either the UK or Australia/New Zealand (NUTTAB) food tables and begin downloading your 30-day evaluation copy of Dietplan6. The standard OS X web browser Safari will download the file dp6eval-uk-osx.dmg or dp6eval-au-osx.dmg onto your desktop and then mount the disk image contained in the file and start the installation process. If it doesn’t mount automatically, double-click on the desktop file to open the disk-image it contains and it will be shown in a new Finder window. To begin installation, double click on the package file Dp6_E630-uk-osx.pkg or Dp6_E630-au-osx.pkg as appropriate.

The installation of Dietplan6 will be done by the standard OS X software installer. By default it will be installed on your primary drive in  /Users/Shared/Dietplan6. To create a “shortcut”, drag the Dietplan6 program icon from the ../Dietplan6/program subfolder into the dock. Your 30-day trial period begins the first time you run the program. Once Dietplan6 is installed, the .dmg file on the desktop can be deleted.

There are a few minor differences between the OS X and Windows versions, mainly concerning the “Mac” way of presenting things. These are described in a Read me file displayed during installation, which can be printed out or saved. You can also download a 30-day Trial Guide to accompany your evaluation of Dietplan6. Click the above link to download the file onto your desktop. It is in PDF format and will be opened automatically by the standard OS X Preview application. If you ignore the references to installing and uninstalling the software under Windows, the guide should help you get familiar with running Dietplan. The pricing and ordering information there applies equally to the Mac OS X version.

At the end of the evaluation period, Dietplan6 will cease to work. If you decide to purchase Dietplan6 at any time, the licenced version will be installed, by default, over the evaluation version and will replace it. To remove the evaluation copy, drop the whole /Users/Shared/Dietplan6 folder into Trash.
